Student Visa for Singapore: Overseas students must obtain a student visa in order to study in Singapore, according to Immigration Regulations. The ICA (Immigration and Checkpoints Authority) has divided the prerequisites for a Singapore student visa, also known as a Student Pass, into 6 groups, depending on the type of the organization:

Institutes of Higher Learning is a category that includes all 34 Singapore universities that foreign students, particularly Indian students, wish to attend. Applicants must have been accepted into a full-time programme in Singapore before applying for a Singapore student visa. Once you’ve received confirmation, start the Student VISA application process at least two months before your trip. The Singapore student visa costs around S$90 (4,910 INR) for Indian students.
Singapore Student Visa Types:
Candidates seeking admission to the different universities based out of Singapore must be aware of the types of visas. The detailed information on the type of visa is as follows:

Embarkation/Disembarkation Card:
The candidate must present three items upon entrance to the Singapore Airport: a valid passport, an initial copy of the IPA, and a Disembarkation/Embarkation Card. This D/E card will be given to you on the flight, and a copy will be accessible at the Singapore Changi Airport Immigration checkpoint.
Singapore Visa Cost:
In order to obtain a Singapore student visa, an Indian student must pay two types of fees:
Processing Fee: When submitting your application to the Singapore ICA, you must pay a non-refundable advance fee. If you choose to submit your student pass application through the SOLAR system, you must pay the processing fee using your online banking account or a debit/credit card.
Issuance Fee: You must pay an SGD 30 multiple-entry fee if you want to leave and return to Singapore during your course of study. You must pay the issuance and multi-entry fees when you pick up your student pass.
Student Visa for Singapore Application Process:
International students must submit the Student Pass application at least a month (but not more than 60 days) before the start of their desired course to apply for a student visa to Singapore. Applications must be submitted via e-Service and must comply with the following guidelines:
Step 1: Register yourself on the official website. Upon registering, candidates will receive the SOLAR application number.
Step 2: Log in with details like SOLAR application number, Name, Nationality, Gender, and Date of Birth.
Step 3: Click on the eForm 16 and fill out the form with the following details:
- Passport number and expiry date
- Complete Permanent Address
- Travel History
- Basic questions which candidates have to answer in Yes or NO.
Step 4: Upload the photograph and follow certain guidelines while doing it
- The photograph should be the latest
- Should not exceed 60KB
- The photograph should be in JPEG format
- The resolution should be 400*514 pixels
- The photo should be clear
You can pay the application processing fee of 30 SGD once you’ve completed the application form (1,635 INR). Your application for a Singapore student visa can take up to 10 working days to be processed by the immigration department.
Documents Needed for Singapore Student Visa:
In order to study in Singapore, you must have a Student Pass. The documents that must be submitted are listed below:
- A copy of the biodata page of the passport
- A copy of the offer letter from IHL institute in Singapore
- Four latest passport size photographs
- Residential details and contact details of Singapore
- Personal information of the candidate
- Personal information of parents
Cancellation of Student Visa:
International students must nullify and surrender their Student Pass (STP) after completing their programme, unlike other visa applications. While a few educational institutions have the right to invoke STP cancellation online, students are encouraged to do so in person.
Educators must have a completed STP Cancellation Form, a valid travel document, and their STP card on them at all times. Alternatively, when departing Singapore, they can present their Student Pass to the ICA authority at the airport.
